Thai One On

Our first dinner....Thai. I, this blogger hosted at my house.
For those who know me, you know I have been to Thailand twice and twice I have taken cooking classes. Admittedly, it did not translate well for me going from class back to my own kitchen.
After my latest trip I decided I was going to give it the appropriate effort and what better way to do it right than for a bunch a friends. The pressure was on!
I would have to say that the most intense part for me was prepping all day. Since Thai food is so vegetable-centric there was tons of chopping to do. I must also add that I made homemade spring rolls that I hand rolled myself, and that is labor intensive!
And yes, spring rolls are traditionally Vietnamese. Yet I needed a vegetarian appetizer...You get the picture?
So here was my menu, recipes to follow on another post:

Vegetarian Spring Rolls with sweet chili dipping sauce.

Spicy Beef Salad

Cashew Chicken

Spicy Pork with Basil

Phangan Curry with Chicken

Singha Beer to wash it all down!

Mango Sorbet with wafer cookies.

Can I just tell you that there was NOTHING left over?
The kids played like crazy. No bones were broken and no blood spilled. All in all, it was a great kick off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Coming up next, May 5th, with Sara and Julie. Also recipes for all my dishes.
